Community Initiatives

The Studio District Neighborhood Initiative provides low/moderate income residents of Washington’s Shaw/Logan Circle neighborhood with increased access to The Studio Theatre’s plays and productions, encouraging theatergoing among an audience that might not normally consider it.

Studio District Nights: Upon proof of address, residents of the Studio District can purchase $10 tickets on designated nights. (The Studio District has been designated by the DC Council as the area bound by 16th Street, NW to the west; 11th Street, NW to the east; M Street, NW to the south; and Florida Avenue, NW.)

$30 discount tickets will be offered 30 minutes before performances throughout the season.

Pay-What-You-Can performances provide people with the opportunity to experience live theatre for as little as 25 cents.

Community Space: The Studio Theatre opens its doors to not-for-profit community groups and arts organizations, allowing them to use our facility free of charge. The Studio Theatre has hosted the D.C. Hip-Hop Theatre Festival, the Black Women’s Playwrights Festival, and has offered space to Americans for the Arts, the Helen Hayes Awards and the Logan Circle Community Association among other organizations.
