What to Expect
As a respected midsized theatre, The Studio is both ambitious enough to provide invigorating programming and small enough to give/allow its Apprentices unique access to the Theatre’s artistic and administrative leadership.  Apprentices participate in group projects as well as individual department exchanges, providing first-hand exposure to the complex and complementary relationships between the departments of a professional theatre. The work is rigorous and rewarding; apprentices have a full schedule, and work together with the staff to meet the demanding deadlines of the field; night and weekend hours are sometimes required.

“My Apprentice year was the most exhausting year of my life, but in the best kind of way. I learned so much about the business of theatre and about myself. It was great to see different aspects of all of the departments; now when I'm at other theatres I have a basic understanding of what is happening in all of the other departments. The added bonus of the Apprenticeship? Friends. I deeply cherish my friendships with past and present Studio staff members and crew members. Of course, my fellow Apprentices were key too. We all learned different things from each other, helping each other make it through the rough days.”
—Miriam Yoder, Stage Management Apprentice 06-07
