Volunteering

Become a part of The Studio Theatre community by volunteering in any of the following areas: 

Administration: You will assist our teams with mailing outs of press releases, subscriptions and invitations. Email volunteer@studiotheatre.org if you are interested in Administration volunteering.

Production: For each show we need many hands on deck for tech day. You will likely be involved in moving set and props, using tools and playing with paints. Email volunteer@studiotheatre.org you are interested in Production volunteering.

Ushering

Thank you for your interest in ushering at The Studio Theatre!

The Studio Theatre has a dedicated group of over 500 volunteer ushers. They perform some of the most integral jobs in the theatre on a show-by-show basis. We couldn’t do it without them!

THE USHER DRESS CODE    

All volunteer ushers are required to adhere to the dress code:
Professional black and white – Patterns and designs encouraged!
No jeans, tennis shoes or sandals
Ushers can also wear any of the Studio Theatre t-shirts, available only at the bookstore.   

USHER POSITIONS   

Volunteer ushers are assigned to one of the following positions by the House Manager:

Greeter - Help direct people around the building and greet patrons as they enter the building.
Wine Bar - Serve wine and other beverages at the MILTON Wine Bar (must be 18+ years old). This position requires cash handling.
Coffee Shop - Serve coffee and pastries at the MEAD Coffee Shop. This position requires cash handling.
Bookstore – Sell books, scripts, CD's and items at the bookstore. This position requires cash handling and using credit/debit cards.
Ticket Collector- Take tickets and direct patrons to the correct area of the theatre to be seated.
Seating Usher - Hand out programs and usher patrons to their seats.
Coat Check - Check coats, bags and other items for patrons in the MEAD lobby. (NOTE: Coat Check is a FREE service provided for the patrons. No money or tips are accepted at the coat check.)

All ushers are entitled to a FREE SEAT to every show that they usher. It’s the easiest way to see Studio’s Award-Winning shows for free!  Please note that these seats are given on a space available basis. On the rare occasions that there are no available seats, all ushers are entitled to one comp ticket to a performance of their choice for that same show.
